What's this? Progress, At Last!
Tim Pentecost has been hard at work on the buildings for the diorama. We are happy to present some photos of the fruits of his efforts! Photos and captions courtesy of Mr. Pentecost. A heartfelt "Thank you!" to Tim!
These 2 pics (above and below) show the Dio facade building. I have a few touch ups to do and need to glue it to its base, but it is done as far as I can take it for now. I need stairs and railings to finish it off. I figure that will happen when the crew meets to assemble this thing. The models are placed to illustrate the size of the facade.
Below: Here's a quick look at the sidewalk details on the Dio facade section of the motel. One section has been detailed and the other shows the difference between just the concrete paint and the detailing that took place.
The photos immediately above are the early stages of the four-unit wing which will feature room details (left) and the office/manager's apartment (right). The diorama construction committee will be meeting soon, and more details will be hashed out, and work will begin on the diorama base. We at the StraightLineModeler would like to express our gratidtude to the two Tims, Burkhardt and Pentecost, and to Big John Pattison for taking over the reins on this project, making Phil's vision a reality!
