It's
almost impossible to talk drag racing history without the name Don Garlits
coming up. Known as Big Daddy, Tampa Don, The Swamp Rat, Don Garbage,
Dan Garbage, Large Father or simply "Big", Garlits has arguably
changed the sport more than any other competitor. As modelers, we have
been blessed with a pretty fair selection of Garlits' most significant
racers, from Swamp Rat VI (Wynn's Jammer) through his last front-motored
car, and from his revolutionary first rear-engined dragster to the slippery
Swamp Rat XXX. Our research pages would not be complete without a comprehensive
cross-section of the dragsters of the greatest drag racer ever, "Big
Daddy"!
