Cirello's "Frankenstein" magnetos were very common on fuel cars
of the mid-late 1960s. Unfortunately, while attempts have been made by
kit manufacturers to model them, none of those attempts have been very
successful. That leaves serious modelers on their own when it comes to
installing one of these iconic pieces of equipment on their current project.
The photos on this page should be beneficial in helping you create one
from scratch. A few bits of Evergreen rod and strip and some judicious
sanding, along with your favorite distributor cap (We prefer one of those
from Johan's Sox and Martin 'Cuda), and a couple of strips of aluminum
duct tape for the cap hold downs should do the trick. We borrowed some
of these photos from Nitrogeezers,
which has a great article on Cirello's Frankenstein magnetos. |
