This
kit is currently available through many online sources. Originally an
MPC release, we can thank Model King for the current release. The kit
is about as accurate as kits get, which is to say it's okay, but needs
some work. The chassis is very close, as is the body with the exception
of the following; exchange the hood for a flat one from a Johan Maverick
or from Perry's Resin, as well as the rear wheel openings from either
of the same sources, and add a Grump Lump scoop (AFXnScale made a very
nice one-more on that as it develops). Given the state of the rear wheelwells
in the current issue, a serious replica builder will probably want to
mate this chassis to a chopped Johan or Perry's body, then mate the Grump
Lump to the flat hood from that source. Paint is most likely the same
Cadillac blue as the '33 Willys. The kit's decals leave more than a little
to be desired, so we either have to create the graphics ourselves, or
wait until an aftermarket maker does them. |
