Back in 1969 or 1970, Jim Keeler, writing for the long defunct Car Model magazine, penned and photo'd the ground breaking Unraveling the Snake Pit. Over several issues of the magazine, Keeler covered virtually every detail of Roland Leong's HAWAIIAN Dodge Charger funny car in words, photos and drawings.With the release of Polar Lights' series of funny car kits, which includes Leong's mini- Charger, Keeler's article has become as relevant and important to our hobby as it ever was, those three-odd decades ago. In 2001, Jim gave us his blessing to run his article here. It has been a long time coming. The StraightLineModeler proudly presents Unraveling the Snake Pit.
